The distinguished guests included ๐€๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐œ. ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐Œ๐ƒ. ๐€๐ฆ๐ž๐ฅ ๐€๐ซ๐ง๐š๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ – Internal medicine physician specialist (Endocrinology) working at The Ottawa Hospital and Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐€๐ง๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฐ ๐ƒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐š – entrepreneur and business owner with expertise in sales, human resources, vendor relations and finance.ย Representing ๐”๐ญ๐ก๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฆ ๐ƒ๐ข๐š๐ ๐ง๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ฌ, the members discussed the company’s strengths and strategic products. A warm welcome to Prof. Dr. Paul Cos, Prof. Dr. Pierre Van Damme, and Prof. Johan Wens from the University of Antwerp! On April 4th, 2025, we were honored to host our distinguished guests from Antwerp University at International University โ€“ VNUHCM. RCID Welcomes Deakin Biostatistics Unit On March 4th, 2025, RCID had the distinct pleasure of hosting Professor Liliana Orellana – Director of the Biostatistics Unit and Dr. Tanita Botha – Senior Research Fellow from the esteemed Deakin Biostatistics Unit, Faculty of Health, Deakin University, Australia. This visit marked a significant opportunity for knowledge exchange and the exploration of potential collaborations between our institutions. The session provided a valuable platform to: Showcase RCID’s ongoing research initiatives and the expertise within our center in [mention a specific area of RCID’s work, e.g., epidemiological studies, data management for large-scale health projects. Learn about the requirements and keys to a successful grant application from professionals who have reviewed multiple grant proposals. Identify potential synergies and areas for future collaboration, including joint research projects, capacity building initiatives, and opportunities for researcher exchange. Research Center for Infectious Diseases and the School of Medicine – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City had a co-operation meeting on Pharmaceutical Researches In the morning of May 9, 2023, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Phuong Thao – Director of Research Center for Infectious Diseases had a meeting and exchange with Prof.Dr. Le Minh Tri – Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City and other staff members: Dr. Vo Thanh Hoa – Head of the Department of Medicinal Plants – Plants, Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Vinh – Head of the Department of Apothecary – Pharmaceutical Industry. During the meeting, the center and school discussed respective research topics and potential areas of collaboration. The School of Medicine is divided into many subjects with separate areas of expertise, including Medicinal Materials – Plants and Apothecary – Pharmaceutical Industry. The two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in research and preparation of health support products. ย  This exchange has laid the basis for future cooperation in research topics between the two sides. Besides Pharmaceuticals, the center and school will also have other discussions in otherย  aspects such as diagnostic testing, vaccine development, biomedical techniques to support medical treatment, etc.

Research center for Infectious disease and Organoid Science Company (Korea) had a co-operation meeting on the application of Organoid technology in research

On the afternoon of April 4, 2023, Research Center for Infectious Diseases met and discuss with Organoid Science Company (Korea) on potential applications of organoid technology for medicinal herbs and biological active ingredients at International University, VNU-HCM. Research Center for Infectious Diseases, International University, VNU-HCM was established at the end of 2021. The center recruits strong researchers in the fields of biotechnology and biomedical technology for developing and manufacturing products to prevent and treat infectious diseases that are concerns of the whole society. Organoid Science was established in 2018 as the first innovation company in organoid-specialized drug development in Korea for developing incurable-disease treatments using organoids, which is the most advanced to regenerate human organs by 3D stem cell culture. Organoid Science develops and expands research labs, culture technologies, and application processes to find new treatment methods of incurable diseases. At the same time, the company also promotes the product process to invent novel products that meet current medical needs. In 2023, the company starts the project to build a representative office in Vietnam and focuses research cooperation with Vietnamese scientists. In the meeting, Dr. KyungJin Lee, Technology Director of Organoid Science Company, introduced about the company’s research and application areas such as organoid and tissue regeneration technology applied in medical treatment, survey, and evaluation of the efficacy of medicinal products. M.D, Ph.D Jongman Yoo, CEO of Organoid Science, has researched and published many scientific publications on the application of organoids in medical research. Mr. Yoo shared and hoped to cooperate with the center in the future. Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Phuong Thao, Director of the Center for Infectious Diseases Research, shared about the research directions of the center, introduced the core scientists and the topics carried out at the center. In the future, the center will promote the extraction of active ingredients with high biological activity, experiment at the in vitro scale, towards testing on animal models. Organoid Science representatives would like to coordinate and guide organoid culture process for the center’s researchers. At the end of the meeting, the parties affirmed their desire to cooperate in the future, develop common topics as well as exchange and guide technology to promote the research and development pharmaceutical products, meet the urgent needs of society. ย  By RCID’s media team

RCID’s meeting with Waters Company (USA)

On April 6, 2023, the Research Center for Infectious Disease had a short meeting with Waters Corporations (USA) and discussed mass spectrometry technology application in natural products and proteomic research.ย  Established at the end of 2021, RCID has been recruiting strong researchers in biotechnology and biomedical technology for development, with the aim to develop and manufacture products towards the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. Waters Company is one of the companies that provide technologies for chromatography, mass spectrometry, and thermal analysis. For more than 60 years, Waters has continuously innovated and improved these technologies for discovering new pharmaceuticals, assuring the safety of the worldโ€™s food and water supplies, or ensuring the integrity of a chemical entity in production. ย  Ms. Yanting Lim – Field Marketing Specialist, South-East Asia, Waters Corporation – presented about the application of chromatography and spectroscopy technology in studying natural products and proteomics, in food adulteration testing, detection and quantification of new pharmacologically valuable compounds in natural products. The company also showed how their innovations in mass spectrometry, Stepwaves and triwave technologies, can improve the experiment sensitivity, resolution and reduce noise. ย  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai – Vice Director of RCID – shared about the research directions of the center. In the coming time, the center will focus on research projects to evaluate natural active ingredients and research on bacterial proteom, working towards solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. The two groups also discussed the analysis of mass spectrometry results of the composition of natural extracts ย  At the end of the meeting, the two parties expressed their desire for future collaboration to accelerate the research and development of medical and pharmaceutical products. ย  By RCID’s media team
