Meeting With University of Antwerp, Belgium

On September 19th, 2024, the Research Center for Infectious Diseases (RCID) had the pleasure of hosting Professor Paul Cos (Vice Dean, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences) and Professor Johan Wens (Lecturer, Department of Family Medicine and Population Health) from the University of Antwerp. The visit was a significant event, focusing on the challenges faced by RCID in conducting research and the potential solutions to overcome these difficulties.

During the visit, RCID representatives shared their experiences and the obstacles they encounter in their research efforts. They highlighted the financial constraints, resource limitations, and the impact these challenges have on their ability to conduct groundbreaking research.

Professors Cos and Wens engaged in productive discussions with the RCID team, offering their insights and expertise. They provided valuable suggestions on how RCID can adapt to the current situation, including exploring alternative funding sources, optimizing research methodologies, and fostering collaborations with other institutions.
